DD3000 - Seagate hard disk auxiliary mirror function
We all know Seagate hard disk in the mirror if the physical bad road, often appear busy state, must be power reset to be ready, if the hard disk bad road is very much, you need to do a lot of power reset, also not wait for the mirror finished, the hard disk has not recognized. Some heads will be damaged and must be replaced and mirrored again. Some of the firmware is broken, you need to fix the firmware again and then do the mirroring. Some can't be fixed at all.
DD3000 perfectly solves this problem in this respect. When images encounter physical bad lanes, special means are used to change the state of the hard disk before the hard disk gets busy, while the physical bad lanes are quickly skipped. Two problems have been well solved. First, the hard disk won't get busy in bad ways, which greatly reduces the number of times of hard disk power reset, effectively protects the hard disk, and reduces the probability of hard disk damage again. Second, DD3000 can be quickly skipped when it is in bad channel, which avoids the long waiting time after power reset, greatly improving the mirroring speed, and more data can be mirrored. This is the same kind of software does not have a bright spot.
Overall, this feature reduces the number of frequent resets of Seagate hard drives and indirectly protects the head from premature damage. However, if the head reads to the severely scratched area, the head damage cannot be avoided.
